Why Us
  The small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) are playing a very important role in our national economy and in the social development. Their export accounts for a much bigger share of the total national export. With China’s accession to the WTO and the implementation of “the Law for the Promotion of SMEs” and “the new Law on Foreign Trade”, more and more SMEs dealing with international business will emerge, which provides new development opportunities for China’s SMEs and brings problems and challenges as well.
  It has been proved as successful experience of the developed countries to establish specific institutions to assist and guide the SMEs to do foreign trade and to develop in a global context. Being the trade promotion arm of the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, the Trade Development Bureau (TDB) is committed to establish a comprehensive trade promotional mechanism with various channels at different levels so as to provide efficient and convenient public services to the growth of enterprises. An Assistance Center for SMEs is thus established specifically in TDB, aiming at further enhancing the important role of the SMEs in the trade development of our country so as to promote the trade development in a sustained, healthy, stable and coordinated way.

Our Services
  For Overseas SMEs
--Services will be provided for overseas SMEs carrying business activities in China including offering consultancy of trade and commerce laws and regulations in China, providing Chinese trader list for specific trade, assisting foreign SMEs seeking suitable trade partners, inviting foreign SMEs to attend investment and trade meetings in specific area in China and launching market research for foreign enterprises, etc.
  Consultancy
--Hot-line: To give answers to the difficulties encountered by the SMEs on a daily basis and give institutional guidance for problems such as price, contract, transport, insurance, bills, clearance, inspection and quarantine, and etc.
--Experts telephone interview: To organize experts telephone interviews on a regular basis to cover topics including trade policies of different countries, WTO rules, trade barriers, brand strategy, trade marks, patents ,and etc.
--Official Online Communication: To invite competent officials from the government institutions of foreign trade, commerce and industry, customs, inspection and quarantine, judiciary, banks and etc to communicate with the SMEs via the Internet, providing one-stop consulting services covering the issues of company establishment, information, financial solutions, taxes, import and export, and etc.

  Individual Diagnosis
--The Center will arrange relevant experts to give individual diagnosis to the problems of a company and the according guidance subject to its application.

  Training
--For SMEs: export promotion, import and export, business management, e-commerce, international business language, legal knowledge in foreign trade, intellectual property rights, and etc.
--For the managerial staff of SMEs: country policies, WTO rules, laws and regulations, trade barriers, investment environment of specific markets, and etc.

  Translation Services
--Translation: To assist the SMEs translate their marketing materials into target languages
--Interpretation: To provide interpretation services to business delegations of SMEs for overseas exhibitions

  Intelligence Publication
--Pocket brochures: business directories, product catalogues, trade data of different countries
--Research Journals: research reports and analysis on international markets, industries and products.
--Multimedia materials: Database CD, training video tapes, VCD or DVDs for industries and products

  Products Display
--To establish display halls for the products of SMEs for better publicity and more business opportunities.

  IPR and Accreditation
--To provide financial support to SMEs for their applications for international IPR and accreditation.
