On Nov 27 and 28, 2007, Feng Hongzhang, the Director General of TDB under MOFCOM, headed a mission to Madrid for the 4th session of China-Spain Forum and delivered a speech on the topic of “Accelerating the Development of Trade and Economy Between China and Spain”.

China-Spain Forum which was initiated by the former Chinese PM Zhu Rongji and Spain's Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar, was established in December 2003 aiming at accelerating the exchanges and cooperation in various of fields between the two nations. And Hu Qili and Samaranch were the Chairmen of each part. There are six committees under the Forum about politics, economy, culture and others. The topic of the 4th session of China-Spain Forum is “Unison, Development and Win-Win”. The Chinese Vice Premier Hui Liangyu was present at the opening ceremony.

On the evening of Nov 26th, TDB Director General Feng Hongzhang met with the officials from Andalusia Trade, Tourism and Sports Bureau. The two sides exchanges opinions on the common concerned trade and economic issues.

Andalusia is Spain’s second largest autonomous region exercising jurisdiction over 8 administrative provinces. It’s the world largest olive oil production base and the largest cotton producing area in Europe. Meanwhile, Andalusia is a well-know touring area.

During the session of the Forum, Mr. Feng Hongzhang also visited the officials of the Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade. Both sides were willing to promote trade and push the cooperation of enterprises between the two nations. And they also discussed the possibility of signing the MOU of cooperation.
